Balsamic Vinegar & Olive Oil


This makes a mouth watering delicious appetizer or snack. Total cost of preparation runs about $1 per person (unless you live in a location with an insanely high price of French bread). 


  • 1/2 a loaf of sliced French bread
  • pinch of salt
  • 5 tablespoons olive oil
  • 5 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar
  • pinch of red peppers
  • pinch of pepper



Step one: Combine the salt, pepper, & red pepper into a pestle and mortar. "Grind vigorously" for about 5 seconds (there's no good way to really explain this, grind it until it looks like the picture below. Not too powdery, not too chunky.).   


Step two: Combine the olive oil & balsamic vinegar in a small plate & mix with a fork. Sprinkle the mixture from your pestle and mortar onto the olive oil and balsamic vinegar. 


Step three: Serve! Short, simple, and sweet. Your taste buds will thank you.
